Douglas Johnson

When asked why play bagpipes, Douglas responded:
"An early memory is of family gatherings where cousins, uncles and aunts would play stringed instruments and the occasional harmonica to the delight of friends and other family. I've always felt inclined to play something so I tried my hand at piano beginning at age 29 but I was never any good. Since the Highland Bagpipe has always stirred my soul, I got a chanter and began lessons four years ago. I've owned a set of Krons for two years and practice on them regularly."

He also states he hopes to make a musical contributation to an otherwise wonderful group of people.

Douglas has been married to Barbara for 34 years and they have three children and three grand children. By profession, he is an Optometrist, employed by Dr Bizer's VisionWorld, Louisville.
