Our drum corps is lead by Rick Clayburn; who has been involved in Pipe Band drumming since 2002, but has researched the genre extensively and has proven to be an excellent teacher and player of the Scottish style of drumming. Rick made his mark in his first year of solo competition by placing in the top ten in his EUSPBA grade in solo snare drumming, his second year first in points Grade 4 and third year 2nd in points Grade 3.

With over 30 years of playing experience Mr. Clayburn also has performed with the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra as well as many area dance bands as well as taught percussion at the collegiate level. He has a B.M. in Music Education and a Masters degree in Percussion Performance from Eastern Ky. University.

Rick is married to Connie and son Jesse is a piper in the band. He also has a daughter Amy. Her husband Mike plays snare with the band when he's not busy with Rick's new grandson Riley!
